WhatsApp About Maker

In November 2025 WhatsApp brought the About back to the front: it shows at the top of one-to-one chats and on your profile, and people can reply to it. WhatsApp pictures it as an emoji and a short phrase, like a status line, which is why every template here is one line.

A new About expires after one day unless you choose a longer time when you set it. If yours keeps disappearing, pick a longer time or set it again; copy your favourite from here so it's ready to paste.

• 139 characters. WhatsApp's help pages give no number for the app; 139 is the About limit Meta documents for business profiles, and every template here fits it with a long name.
• Who sees it is up to you: Settings → Privacy → About, then Everyone, My contacts, My contacts except… or Nobody.
• Your profile name is a separate field of up to 25 characters.
• Business profiles also get a description of up to 512 characters.

Styled letters and symbols are ordinary Unicode text, so they paste into the About like any words. Whether they show depends on the fonts on your contact's phone: the fonts offered first show on current iPhones and Android phones, and the maker marks the rest.

Your About is read at a glance at the top of a chat, so style your name or one word and keep the rest plain. One emoji is usually enough to set the mood.
